General Director of the Litfond Auction House Sergei Burmistrov said that many of the books were banned and burnt after being denounced by “the church.”
Among the exclusive editions belonging to the secret community there was a “Pocket book for Freemasons” and “Spirit of Masonry.”
In total, the Litfond Auction House sold off an estimated 70 million roubles (€9 million $10.16 million) worth of books.
