A French couple sent precious WWII medals to the family of Aleksandr Prokhorenko, a Russian soldier killed in Syria after calling in airstrikes on himself while surrounded by Islamic State forces. News that Jean-Claude Mague and Micheline Mague had sent honours won by members of their own family in the Second World War emerged on Wednesday.
