Argentina: Thousands mob Kirchner as she arrives to face fraud allegations
Former President of Argentina Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner was greeted by around 5,000 supporters as she returned to Buenos Aires for the first time in nearly four months to testify in front of Judge Claudio Bonadio over allegations of fraud. The hearing is set to take place on Wednesday.
The charges include money laundering and embezzlement and mishandling of public cash in tandem with the Central Bank during the final months of her time as Argentine president.
Reports state that the process could be postponed due to the fact that she tried to dismiss Bonadio. If this occurs, the court will have to appoint a new judge to hear the case and a new date will be set.
