Colombia: Thousands denounce FARC peace process in Bogota
An estimated 10,000 protesters marched through the streets of Bogota, Saturday, to denounce the government's impending peace deal with the country's largest rebel group, the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).
Protesters marched through the streets of the Colombian capital, waving national flags and holding signs condemning FARC, before holding a rally on Bolivar Square.
Following more than three years of negotiations, the Colombian government and FARC are on the brink of establishing a peace deal that would bring about an end to more than half a century of conflict. However during the last round of negotiations held in Havana in March, the Colombian government failed to sign a final peace agreement with the rebel group on the grounds that important differences still needed to be resolved.
