Several people, including former members of Ukraine's Aidar Battalion, were detained during a protest against the alleged illegal blockade of a municipal yacht park and boat-port by the privately-run 'SWAT' security company in Kiev, Saturday. Tensions ran high as local citizens tried to remove barricades and checkpoints set up by the firm at the entrance of the park.

Among the arrested persons was a former spokesperson of the Aidar Battalion and current head of SWAT, Alexandr Zolotukhin.

Protesters say the SWAT representatives built a checkpoint at the entrance to the park and gathered money illegally from the owners of the boats and yachts.

Aidar was a paramilitary volunteer battalion which participated in the conflict in eastern Ukraine on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
