Mexico: Over 2,000 couples tie the knot in Mexico City in mass matrimony
A reported 2,016 couple were married in Zocalo, Mexico City, on Saturday, in a mass wedding ceremony that was overseen by the city's mayor Miguel Angel Mancera Espinosa.
Couples of all ages, classes and creeds took part in the event, including same sex couples. Bride Guadalupe Vasquez said "It´s a very special day, because is the day we legally formalize our commitment and well, I feel very happy."
Many of the bride and grooms decided on the mass ceremony because of low price in contrast to private weddings.
