Russia: MMA fighter Khasbulaev 'honoured' to win on Chechen soil

Mixed martial artist Magomedrasul "Frodo" Khasbulaev said he was honoured "to fight at home" in the Chechen Republic, following his win against America's Kurt Holobaugh at the Grand Prix Akhmat 2016 tournament in Grozny, Saturday.

After beating Holobaugh in a quarter-final featherweight bout, Khasbulaev said "when fighting outside of the Caucasus, outside of Russia, there is some excitement, everything there is a little different, but here you feel at home and good."

The Grand Prix Akhmat was be attended by fighters from eight countries: Russia, Brazil, Finland, USA, France, Slovenia, Peru and England. The tournament took place in the Coliseum complex in the Russian city and consisted of 16 fights in four weight classes.
