USA: Protesters demand firing of officer who killed black teen David Joseph
Dozens of protesters gathered at the City Hall in Austin, Texas on Thursday, to call for justice for David Joseph, a Black teenager that was shot and killed by Austin police in early February while naked and clearly unarmed.
The protesters held placards condemning police brutality and calling for justice for David Joseph, while chanting slogans, including "no justice, no peace" and "same story every time, being Black is not a crime." The protesters also called on the Police Chief to fire Geoffrey Freeman, the police officer who shot and killed the teenager.
David Joseph, a 17-year-old high school student, was shot and killed by Austin police officer Geoffrey Freeman after the Austin police say they received a call about a naked black male acting erratically in the area. Freeman claimed that Joseph, who was naked and unarmed at the time, charged at him, causing him to open fire and kill the teen.
