Yemen: Pro-Hadi forces kill at least 10 Houthis in Lahj province
Around 10 Houthi soldiers were killed after soldiers loyal to the President of Yemen Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi launched a military offensive in the south-western province of Lahj on Monday.
According to local reports, around 10 Houthis were killed in the attack after mortars and rockets were fired from pro-Hadi forces who have been backed by the Saudi-led coalition.
The Saudi-led coalition includes eight other Arab states and is receiving logistical support from the United States, Britain and France. The UN estimates that the violence has resulted in a dramatic increase in civilian casualties, with more than 5,800 people killed in Yemen since Saudi-led coalition air-strikes commenced on March 19.
