USA: Squeeze and shoot! 'World’s first handgun for disabled' goes on show in NJ
US based company Constitution Arms has designed what could be the world's first handgun for disabled people, the Palm Pistol, with the weapon's designer Matthew Carmel presenting the hardware in Maplewood, NJ, Thursday.
Carmel decided to design the gun because "I'm a strong supporter of the second amendment and I believe the disabled have as much a right to self-defence as anyone else, so I'm following a passion, and hopefully the money will follow."
By using an augmented squeeze-based trigger, the Palm Pistol can reportedly be used by people with any kind of condition that results in weakened hand strength or manual dexterity.
The initial price of the Palm Pistol is $ 1,350 (€1,215).
