USA: Cruz prepares for New Hampshire primary following Iowa win
Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz met with his supporters and spoke to press in the town of Weare in New Hampshire on Thursday, following his "tremendous victory" in the Republican Iowa caucuses.
"Monday night shocked the Washington establishment," he said, adding that "monday was a victory for the grass roots. It was a victory for the millions of courageous conservatives across this country."
He went on to stress that if a presidential candidate wins Iowa caucuses, his political opponents want to turn him down. "They want to attack you, they want to throw," Cruz stated.
Moreover, Cruz confirmed his willingness to appeal on the ABC News and RNC to include another presidential candidate Carly Fiorina to the upcoming Republican debates. "She has worked hard, she has run a diligent campaign, she has inspired a lot of people and she deserves to be up there on that stage," he said.
Cruz won the Republican Iowa caucuses on Monday with 28 percent, while Republican frontrunner Donald Trump came in second with 24 percent. However, Trump claimed Ted Cruz committed a "fraud", adding that "either a new election should take place or Cruz's results nullified."
