
Russia: Huge Soviet Victory Banner unfurled on Poklonnaya Hill
A record-breaking sized Soviet Banner of Victory was unfurled on Poklonnaya Hill in Victory Park in Moscow, on Thursday. Some 200 cadets from EMERCOM’s Civil Defence Academy took part in the ceremony. The banner is more than 1,000 square metres in area.
The event is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of victory in World War II. Veterans and politicians attended the event and brought flowers to the eternal flame. The banner will be committed in the book of national records. After the ceremony, the banner will be placed in Moscow’s main World War II Museum.
