
USA: ArcelorMittal's steelworkers rally in Chicago to demand new contracts
Hundreds of steelworkers marched through the central Chicago and later gathered at ArcelorMittal's North American Headquarters to demand new working contracts and better working conditions, Wednesday.
According to local media, there are at least 13,000 workers at ArcelorMittal facilities working under contracts that expired last September. Member of United Steelworkers, Rick Laporte said "It makes me very angry because one day I want to retire. And others are trying to take that from me as well."
CEO of ArcelorMittal, Lakshmi Mittal greeted the protesters outside the office building but refused to make any comments.
