
Switzerland: Lavrov and Kerry talk Syria and Ukraine conflicts in Zurich
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with US Secretary of State John Kerry in Zurich, Wednesday, to discuss the ongoing conflicts in Syria and Ukraine.
The pair are expected to discuss the UN-mediated Syria peace talks that are scheduled to begin next week. At the last round of Syria peace talks in Vienna diplomats from around the world called for a political solution to the conflict however differing opinions on the future of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad have halted progress.
Wednesday's talks mark the first time both diplomats have met in 2016. Following the meeting, Kerry is set to travel to Davos to attend the World Economic Forum.
