
Turkey: Mourners pay respects to victims of Istanbul attack at Sultanahmet Square
People laid flowers, lit candles and left personal messages at the scene of Tuesday’s suicide bomb attack in Istanbul on Wednesday. Groups gathered to commemorate the 10 victims who died and to show their solidarity with Turkey.
Among the memorabilia was a Syrian flag and a message that was left saying 'We Syrians stand with you against terrorism.’
On Tuesday, 10 people were killed and a further 15 were injured after a suicide bomb went off at one of Istanbul's major tourist destinations. Local authorities identified a 28-year-old suicide bomber of Syrian origin to be the assailant.
