Thousands of protesters marched through Moldova's capital chanting slogans like "Down with the mafia" and "Plahotniuc do not forget that the prison is your real home", denouncing Plahotniuc's ties with business lobbies in oil, media, banking and finance sectors.

Platform DA called former military and employees of law enforcement agencies as well as students to participate in the rally, which was eventually joined by thousands of people.

Scuffles erupted earlier today at another protest of DA platform in front of the Moldovan Presidential Residence and the Government State Residence in Chisinau.
