
Russia: EMERCOM free cars buried in snow near Orenburg
Workers from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) brought in a snowplough in continued efforts to help clear the roads and free trapped cars near the city of Orenburg, Thursday.
The snowplough cleared the excess snow along the P-336 Orenburg-Orsk road following a series of snowstorms that hit the region in recent weeks. In total, more than 130 people and 49 pieces of equipment were deployed to deal with the situation.
Some of the car owners who were left stranded have been sent to temporary accommodation centres in the city of Mednogorsk, while their cars are dug out of the snow by EMERCOM.
