The Organisation of Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) mission to Ukraine and the Deputy Commander of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Eduard Basurin, both confirmed that they came under fire during an inspection of Kominternovo village in the Donetsk region, Sunday.

Basurin said that he, together with OSCE inspectors, "came under fire from the sniper rifles and machine gun." This was the second time the OSCE mission attempted to inspect Kominternovo village during the weekend but were hindered. On Saturday, OSCE experts together with self-proclaimed DPR representatives were not guaranteed safety from the Ukrainian side and were prevented from visiting the village.

The OSCE mission announced its decision to visit Kominternovo for inspection after it was heavily shelled from the Ukrainian army on Friday. According to Basurin, this was the 17th time the Ukrainian side violated the ceasefire.
