USA: 2 killed in Chicago police shooting
The day after Christmas, Chicago Police shot and killed 19-year-old Quintonio LeGrier and 55-year-old Bettie Jones, after responding to a call regarding a domestic disturbance, Saturday. The daughter of Ms Jones gave an exclusive interview, condemning the attack outside the flat where the incident took place.
Toya Jones said that there had been a dispute between the 19-year-old and his father, and that her mother, who was living in the flat above them, was uninvolved, but had, at the father's request, opened the door for the police.
Local media reports that the 19-year-old was studying engineering at Northern Illinois University, and had graduated with honors from Gwendolyn Brooks College Preparatory Academy, but had mental issues that affected his behaviour. Both families condemn Chicago Police for their response.
