
USA: Family drives through blazing California wildfire
Mobile phone footage captured a Californian wildfire ripping through hundreds of acres of land in Solimar near Ventura, Friday.
The video was filmed by a Dutch family who were driving along the South California highway on Christmas night. The fire burned through around 1,200 acres (1.9 square miles) of land, eventually forcing the closure of parts of Highway 101. The family were reported to be the last car let through before the road was closed off. More than 600 firefighters were deployed to battle the blaze.
No injuries have been reported so far.
