
UK: LGBT protesters picket BBC awards over Tyson Fury nomination
Around 30 gay and equal-rights campaigners
protested in front of the SSE Arena in Belfast, Sunday, to demonstrate the nomination of boxer Tyson Fury in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards.
Boxing champion Tyson Fury has caused controversy for making alleged homophobic and sexist comments. Protesters were seen holding banners saying 'Furious at BBC' and chanting slogans such as "Anti-woman, anti-gay, Tyson Fury go away".
More than 135,000 people signed a petition calling for the BBC to remove Fury's nomination from the coveted award.
