Russia: Hundreds mourn victims of Bamako hotel attack

The funerals of five flight crew members, killed in Mali's Radisson hotel attack, were held in Ulyanovsk, Monday. Another victim will be buried in the city of Nizhny Novgorod.

The farewell ceremony for the Volga-Dnepr Airlines' employees was carried out in the local cultural centre. Hundreds of people came with flowers to commemorate the victims, filling the chamber with flowers and pictures of the deceased.

As many as 10 gunmen reportedly entered the Radisson Blu hotel in the centre of the Malian capital on November 20, killing up to 27 people during the attack and taking 170 hostage, including Russian citizens. Six crew members, who had been downstairs when the attack started, were killed. Nine more employees survived and have returned to Russia.
