
Venezuela: Maduro and Emir of Qatar sign bilateral agreements in Caracas
President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro met with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at Miraflores Palace in Caracas, Wednesday to sign several bilateral agreements.
Energy, finance, transport, industry and sports were among the main topics talked on during the meeting, with a specific exchange between Caracas and Doha highlighted.
During the meeting Maduro said that Venezuelans love the Arab people. “We recognise and identified in the culture and identity of the Arab people the same force dignity of the people of Latin America and the Caribbean,” he said.
The Emir of Qatar arrived in Venezuela on Tuesday after officials visit to Mexico and Cuba, as part of his Latin American tour with the aim of strengthening ties of cooperation in the region.
