Pro-Israel supporters rallied in Times Square, Sunday, under the watchful eye of New York Police Department (NYPD) officers, many of whom were armed.
The protesters gathered at the square carrying Israeli banners and flags while police monitored the rally with rifles and riot gear. The police performed security screenings on each attendee, all of whom o had to line up first in order to enter the rally.
The recent threats by the Islamic State (IS, ISIS, ISIL) were reportedly a motivating factor for the organisers to hold the event.
