More than 100 people were arrested after left-wing protesters clashed with police in Weinheim, Saturday, during a demonstration against the party conference of the far-right National Democratic Party of Germany (NPD) being held in the German town.

The protesters reportedly tried to breach police barricades and threw stones at police, injuring two officers. Nearly 130 protesters were arrested initially but only 75 were detained in police custody. Police used pepper-stray and batons to push the protesters back and dozens of protesters were reportedly injured by the pepper spray.

It was the third time the NPD had chosen to hold their party conference in the Weinheim.
