Turkey: Paris attacks suspect arrested in Antalya
A Belgian of Moroccan origin was arrested in the southern Turkish city of Antalya, Saturday, on suspicion of having played a role in last Friday's deadly attacks in Paris.
Ahmed Dahmani flew in to Turkey from Amsterdam last Saturday, the day after the Paris attacks. Authorities detained the 26-year-old suspect at a luxury hotel in Antalya along with two Syrian men suspected of aiding Dahmani in his journey.
Turkish authorities have accused Dahmani and the two Syrian men of being members of the so-called Islamic State (IS, ISIS, ISIL) and believe the group was planning to illegally cross the border into Syria before their arrest.
At least 130 people were killed and more than 349 left injured, after a series of coordinated attacks were carried out at six different locations across Paris last Friday evening. The so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) claimed responsibility for the attack.
