Syria: Russian Sukhoi Su-34 fighter jets continue strikes against IS
Sukhoi Su-34 and Su-24 jets continued to embark on missions targeting the so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) from Russia's Hmeymim airbase in Latakia, Wednesday, after Moscow announced that they are doubling the volume of sorties against militant targets in the war-stricken country.
Sukhoi Su-24, Su-25, and Su-34 aircraft are being used to bolster the Russian anti-terror operation in Syria. The Su-34 aircraft strikes are conducted with KAB-500KR air bombs.
In total 127 sorties were conducted on the first day of redoubled strikes in Syria by Russian Air Forces engaging 206 terrorist targets. The sorties are carried out on a daily and nightly basis.
