The now renowned prime suspect believed to be behind the attacks, 26 year-old Salah Abdelsalam, dubbed "Public Enemy Number One," was not amongst those arrested.

The first three suspects were arrested in front of the Alsdorf job center on Tuesday morning. According to local media, they were a 29 year-old male and two females, 28 and 32. In the afternoon, two further arrests were made after searching the homes of two additional suspects.
