Greece: See DRONE footage of local fisherman guiding refugee boat to Lesbos
Drone footage taken on Wednesday shows a local fisherman assisting refugees by escorting an arriving boat to the shores of Lesbos as hundreds of refugees continued to arrive to the Greek island with deteriorating weather conditions making migrant voyages to the EU increasingly dangerous.
Hundreds of asylum seekers, predominantly from Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq, arrived in inflatable rubber boats on a remote stretch of coastline on the Greek island. Women and children were among the new arrivals.
With Lesbos as one of Greece's hotspots for receiving refugees, the southern European state is one of the main entry points into the European Union for refugees from the Middle East and Africa fleeing violence, war and poverty.
