Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Stephen O'Brien in Moscow, Thursday. Lavrov and O'Brien exchanged opinions on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, in Syria and Yemen.

Lavrov asked Stephen O'Brien to give his opinion on the global "conflicts and interventions" which he called "man-made disasters." O'Brien, in his turn, thanked Russia for its "continuing support" to deal with the humanitarian crises across the globe, emphasising the huge role the federation plays.

Before he visited Russia, O'Brien visited Ukraine, where he had a chance to explore self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics to assess the situation.
