      Bulgaria: Anti-NATO protesters rally outside US Embassy in Sofia

      Dozens of anti-NATO, anti-US and anti-EU protesters rallied outside the US Embassy in Sofia, Wednesday.

      Protesters held banners in support of Russia and condemning NATO, the US and the EU. The group demanded that NATO troops leave Bulgaria and called on the government to leave the military alliance completely.

      Protesters also shouted slogans against US intervention in Syria. “Stop lying to the Bulgarian people, and people all over the world, that you’re fighting against the Islamic State – the terrorist organisation that you’ve created,” one protester said during the rally.
