Dozens of far-right protesters gathered in the town of Rudolstadt in Thuringia, Sunday, and marched through the city centre in opposition to the German government's policies towards the ongoing refugee crisis and refugee flows.

The demonstration was organised by the right-wing 'Die Rechte' (The Right), National Democratic Party (NPD) as well as the Thugida (Thuringia against the Islamisation of the West) movement, with protesters holding signs reading "Freedom of expression instead of muzzle" and "Merkel has to go." As they marched, they also chanted "we are the people."

The demonstration was overshadowed by several dozens of counter-protesters from left-wing parties and activist groups. No clashes or unrest was reported.
