Albin once again confirmed the death toll of 224 victims, including seven crew members and 25 children. Prior reports stated that 17 children died in the catastrophe. The victims are from 13 federal regions of Russia including Karelia, Smolensk, Novgorod, Krasnoyarsk, Tyumen and Volgograd. Citizens of Ukraine and Belarus are also among the deceased, Albin noted. The bodies of the victims are expected to be delivered to St. Petersburg within the next few days, the vice governor announced.
Kogalymavia flight 7K9268 is reported to have crashed in Sinai around 23 minutes after take-off.
