Pakistan: CCTV captures moment deadly earthquake shakes Rawalpindi

CCTV footage outside a bank in Rawalpindi captured the moment the city was shaken by the powerful earthquake that struck South Asia on Monday. The 7.5 magnitude quake sent shockwaves through northern Pakistan, Afghanistan and India.

At least 100 people have been reported killed and hundreds more injured in north-west Pakistan although official casualty figures have not yet been announced. The army has been deployed to carry out search and rescue operations. Shockwaves were felt as far and wide as New Delhi, Kabul and Islamabad.

The earthquake's epicentre was located in the mountainous Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan, according to the US Geological survey, at a depth of 212km (133 miles).
