      Moldova: Protesters delighted as court releases opposition's Usatii

      Thousands of protesters swamped Chisinau's Court Sector Centre, demanding the release of opposition politician Renato Usatii, Sunday. Dozens of police officers were on hand to ensure no incidents occurred. The protesters chanted "freedom to Usatii "and "down with the oligarchs," among other slogans.

      Our Party leader Usatii was arrested on Friday at Chisinau International Airport, in a reportedly dramatic fashion, as commandos wearing masks raided the airport's VIP lounge.

      The court rejected the prosecutor's petition for the arrest to last 30 days and Usatii was released, coming out to the delight of thousands of his supporters.
