Around 100 members of the Roma community in the French city of Moirans, near Grenoble, clashed with police, Tuesday, after police refused to release a member of their community who had been arrested.

Cars were overturned and set alight, and shops looted during the incident, according to reports.

Police restored order before firefighters extinguished the blaze several hours after the clashes broke out. No injuries were reported.
