
Syria: Russian air force hits 86 IS targets in one day
The Russian Air Force continued to launch sorties from Latakia air base on Tuesday, as they stepped up airstrikes on Islamic State (IS, ISIS, ISIL) .
Up to 88 targets were hit on Tuesday by Russian fighter jets, with targets including ammunition dumps, field camps and bases being hit in Raqqah, Hama, Idlib, Latakia and Aleppo, according to the Russian Defence Ministry.
Russian air power is beginning to lead to significant government gains, according to the Syrian Army spokesperson, Ali Muaeeb. With sizable gains being made by Assad’s forces in the Hama and Latakia provinces.
