Ukraine: Nationalists rally in support of suspected killers of Oles Buzina

Ukraine, Krivoi Rog
October 4, 2015 at 08:01 GMT +00:00 · Published

Dozens of Ukrainian nationalists rallied through Krivoi Rog demanding the release of two suspects in the murder of journalist Oles Buzina, Sunday. The protesters marched through the town chanting, waving Ukrainian flags and carrying flares.

Under the banner "Freedom to Patriots!," the activists claim both Andrei Medvedko and Denis Polishchuk, who remain in custody in connection with the murder, are innocent.

Oles Buzina was shot dead on April 16 2015 in front of his flat in Kiev. Ukrainian authorities arrested several suspects in June 2015. Buzina was known for his pro-Russian views and had received numerous death threats by Ukrainian nationalists prior to his murder.
