      USA: Mass vigil held in Oregon for those killed in college shooting

      A mass vigil has been held at Roseburg Stewart park ,Thursday, after a 26-year-old gunman opened fire on students killing nine and wounding dozens more. Hundreds of locals gathered to light candles and sing prayers.

      Chris Harper Mercer, the man identified as the shooter, started his attack at around at around 10:00 local time (18.00 GMT) on Thursday.

      US President Barack Obama has condemned the attack and has once again reiterated the need for gun controls. He has called on the American people to "think about how they can get our government to change these laws, and to save these lives and let these people grow up."
