
UN: Concerns that Russia targets anything other than IS in Syria are unwarranted - Lavrov
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov addressed to press after meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry and Middle East Quartet meeting in New York City, Wednesday. While speaking about crisis in Syria, Lavrov said that Russia is "neither involved in regime changes nor discussions about the future of legitimate presidents in the international states."
During Lavrov's address, he stated that Russian and US military forces are closely cooperating in Syria.
"According to today's meeting, we discussed particularly the principal agreements achieved during the meeting between Putin and Obama. The first of these agreements touches the necessity of close contact and cooperation between our military forces within those decisions that were met at the request of the Syrian authorities and approved in the Russian Federation," he stated.
