USA: Sanders calls for "political revolution," end to US "oligarchy"

United States, Fort Dodge

Vermont Senator and Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders called for a "political revolution" in Fort Dodge on Monday, slamming the "oligarchy" inherent to the political system in the United States and calling on the nation's people to put an end to "this nonsense."

Sanders went on to urge “millions” of people to “get involved in the political process, stand together and demand that we have a government that represents all of us and not just the one percent.” He also discussed the refugee crisis rocking Europe and police brutality in the US.

Earlier on Sunday, Sanders said the US should work with China, Russia, India and other countries around the world to transform "our energy system away from fossil fuel to energy efficiency and sustainable energy." On Saturday, the US Senator also addressed the Latino Heritage Festival in Des Moines, Iowa, calling for widespread change in the nation's immigration policies and reform that would enable undocumented migrants to become full-fledged citizens.
