USA: ""Putin is a killer" - anti-Russian protesters hit NYC
Hundreds of anti-Kremlin protesters took to the streets of New York on Sunday.
Made up mostly of people with Ukrainian, Georgian and Belarusian heritage as well as LGBTQ activists, the protesters held signs depicting Russian President Vladimir Putin as Adolf Hitler, and chanted “Putin is a killer.”
One activist cried out for Putin to be put on trial at the Hague rather than give a speech at the United Nations General Assembly this week.
Putin will personally head the Russian delegation for the opening day of the 70th anniversary of the annual UN session, which officially starts in New York on Monday. During the session, world leaders are expected to outline goals for the next 15 years. The summit will mark Putin's first visit to the US since 2007.
