Spain: "Spaniards yes, refugees no" - Hundreds of far-right protesters hit Madrid
Around 600 far-right protesters marched through Madrid on Saturday, demanding "social aid" for Spaniards and holding banners and placards reading "Spaniards Welcome," a play on the "Refugees Welcome" movement currently organising across Europe.
Escorted by seven National Police vans and a helicopter, the march was organised by the far-right "Hogar Social Ramiro Ledesma" (Social Home Ramiro Ledesma). The group could be heard chanting "Spaniards yes, refugees no" as they marched from Rios Rosas and finished in Tetuan, an area of Madrid known for its large immigrant population. No clashes were reported.
