
Switzerland: Swiss troops parade for conclusion of D-Day exercise
Some 5,000 Swiss troops took part in a rare military parade through the small town of Zofingen on Friday, for the conclusion of the 'Conex 15' training exercise. Around ,000 spectators took in the parade, which included 500 military vehicles.
The exercise was intended to simulate a doomsday scenario wherein Switzerland in the near future is subject to domestic and external shocks including supply shortages, sabotage, and increased flows of refugees due to growing "ethnic tensions" abroad.
It involved troops offering support to border guards and civil partners including police, fire, and ambulance services.
