
Croatia: Refugees struggle to board bus bound for Hungarian border
Refugees scrambled to board the first bus of the day from the Opatovac temporary holding camp on Croatia's Serbian border on Tuesday.
Buses leaving the camp on Monday were headed towards the Hungarian border at Beremend, according to officials.
Riot police increased their presence at the camp as scuffles broke out inside the camp that is closed off to media.
A total of approximately 34,900 migrants have entered Croatia, 1,630 of whom have so far found shelter at the Opatovac camp. Officials estimate that a total of 5,000 refugees have headed to Opatovac in search of a roof over their heads. The largest influx of migrants and refugees is expected in the Tovarnik and Ilok areas
