Denmark: Tens of thousands gather in support of refugees
Over 50,000 people gathered at the Christiansborg Palace of Copenhagen, Saturday, to show their support for refugees and to tell the government to facilitate the arrival of refugees in Denmark.
Concerts were played on stages, and people danced and enjoyed the afternoon. Some speakers addressed the crowd too. One of the co-organisers stated that it is a "unique historical moment that is changing the face of Denmark, and potentially changing the face of Europe".
Danish authorities decided on Wednesday to close road and rail links with Germany in order to prevent refugees heading north to Sweden, via Denmark.
