
USA: Union Station evacuated in DC after shooting
Washington D.C. police briefly evacuated Union Station on Friday at around 1 pm ET (5 pm GMT) after shots were heard from the station. Police, the fire department and ambulances hurried to the scene.
According to a police spokesperson, a security guard fired a gun at least once after responding to a stabbing incident, which was later identified as a domestic dispute. A male suspect who stabbed a woman at a McDonalds restaurant at the Union station food court was shot by a security guard. Both the male and female were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to a witness who was working at a shop nearby, there were two shots fired, but this yet to be confirmed by police.
