The deputy CEO of Uralvagonzavod (UVZ) Scientific and Production Corporation, Vyacheslav Halitov, hailed the companies new BMP T-15 armoured vehicle, calling it "absolutely unique" during the international exhibition of arms REA-2015, in Nizhniy Tagil, Thursday. Halitov went on to state that the BMP T-15 has the "level of security of a tank," which is important "especially in the battlefield, when they are used together in a fighting system."
The BMP T-15 features an unmanned turret, which will be digitally controlled by a crew in a compartment separate from the gun. It is believed that this development will pave the way for a fully robotic, unmanned tank.
UVZ is the largest battle tank manufacturer in the world.
