Passengers were forced to evacuate a British Airways plane after the vehicle caught fire at McCarran Airport in Las Vegas’ McCarran Airport, Tuesday, with 172 passengers aboard.

Flames erupted from the plane’s fuselage, sending large plumes of smoke from 275-seater B777-200. Two of the plane’s passengers are currently being treated for minor injuries, while the other travellers were all evacuated from the plane without incident.

The flight was set to depart for London Gatwick when the fire broke out, according to officials. One of the airport’s runways has been closed, while the others are still in operation.

The source of the fire remains as yet undiscovered.
