
Germany: Forty injured after pepper-spray attack at refugee shelter
Forty people were injured when a man attacked asylum seekers at a refugee shelter in Massow early on Wednesday. Among the injured were eight children, all of whom were taken to hospital with irritated eyes. Police arrested a 28-year-old male suspect at the scene of the crime.
Germany has witnessed numerous attacks of refugees over the last several weeks, with arson attacks on current and earmarked refugee shelters seen throughout the country. In response numerous pro-refugee rallies have been held throughout Germany.
Germany expects to receive up to 800,000 asylum seekers in 2015, more than the entire EU combined in 2014.
